For a few weeks we’ve done a trial run of being open on weekends at the Staunton Antiques Center and our upstairs art gallery, the Artisans Loft. Now I’d like to formally announce that going forward we’ll consistently be open every weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays, from Noon-5pm.
So please, count on coming down on the weekends to see us.
And here are the rules of the game:
As per Governor Ralph Northam’s executive order requiring masks in indoor spaces, all patrons over the age of ten entering our shop MUST have a mask on. This will be strictly enforced. There are disposable gloves at our front entrance should you wish to wear a pair while shopping. And of course, we’ll be regularly sanitizing common surfaces such as our check out desk, credit card machine, and pens, to consistently address safety measures.
On a good news note (besides us being open), current Staunton City Council made it possible going forward for Beverley Street in the downtown area to be closed off from Fridays through Sundays for the foreseeable future. Not only does this mean more outdoor dining for those who want to be in the downtown shopping district, but it also means a wider berth for walkers to move through the streets with more physical distancing.
Just as our interior spaces are large at Staunton Antiques Center and the Artisans Loft, making it easy to shop with plenty of room between you and the next person, the streets in front of and adjacent to our shop are themselves wide, and without car traffic, will provide much room for walkers, browsers, shoppers, and diners to move about while maintaining physical distancing.
So I hope we’ll see you this weekend, and all the weekends going forward. And I hope it won’t be too long until I’m announcing even more news about shopping days with us.
In the meantime, come see us soon, and continue to follow our Items of the Day posts on Facebook whether to claim an item that you just have to have, or just to learn more about the millions of inventory items we carry in the antique shop.
Stay safe, and see you soon!
